About the Drop

It’s an age-old question among dog people: which city is really the most dog friendly? Our Pups in the Park collection highlights four iconic dog-friendly destinations across the U.S., perfect for strolls, fetch, and plenty of wagging tails. But which tails wag the most?

Each tee was thoughtfully designed in collaboration with a local illustrator from that city.

Like with all Mutt Dog apparel, we donate 10% of our annual profits to support nonprofit organizations in the rescue ecosystem.

About Sanika Phawde

Aside from dogs, what inspired your illustration?

  • Ever since I moved to Boston, I have been inspired by the Emerald Necklace, a 1,100-acre chain of parks linked by parkways and waterways in Boston and Brookline, Massachusetts. These free, green, third-spaces in Boston allow us opportunities to connect with our surroundings and communities, and feel a sense of belonging towards our city. I love people-watching and drawing on location, watching the seasons change the colours of the city, and especially seeing the big willows dance in the wind.

What’s your favorite dog-themed memory of the Boston Commons?

  • The largest dog I have ever seen in my life walks around Jamaica Pond sometimes in the evenings. He is a black mutt dog and he seems to be the size of a small horse. He is so beautiful and gentle, and walks with a tiny white and brown mutt dog who looks extra tiny next to him. I don't know their names, but I often go on walks around the pond just hoping to meet them.

If you had to choose a dog name that's iconally Boston, what would it be?

  • Professor Donut
