About the Drop

It’s an age-old question among dog people: which city is really the most dog friendly? Our Pups in the Park collection highlights four iconic dog-friendly destinations across the U.S., perfect for strolls, fetch, and plenty of wagging tails. But which tails wag the most?

Each tee was thoughtfully designed in collaboration with a local illustrator from that city.

Like with all Mutt Dog apparel, we donate 10% of our annual profits to support nonprofit organizations in the rescue ecosystem.

About Maritsa Patrinos

Aside from dogs, what inspired your illustration?

  • Central Park is a beautiful, integral part of New York that has worked hard to be a safe place for its dogs and humans. Dogs need to be leashed between 9am and 9pm there, but in this illustration, I wanted to explore what the park might be like if they had their run of the place. I imagine that when Manhattanite dogs sleep, they dream about running and playing wherever they like, and ruining all the picnics they want.

What’s your favorite dog-themed memory of Central Park?

  • One of my favorite things to do in my neighborhood in Brooklyn is dog-watching in Brower Park. It's just a very serene place where you can find a real mixing pot of local people– many of which are being brought together by their dogs. I love relaxing there around the time the work day is done and watching everybody congregate to chat about their day while their dogs run around together.

What's a must-do, mutt-friendly New York activity?

  • It might be an obvious answer, but the Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade is worth making the trip for. Some really next-level dog costumes– and even if you don't have a dog, you'll leave with a lot more serotonin than you showed up with.
